Our greatest assets are our committed volunteers
As a volunteer-powered organization, Back Roads would not exist without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. The number of dogs and cats we are able to save depends on the number of people we have to help us help them. We are always looking for new volunteers! There are many ways you can help the animals either directly or indirectly as a volunteer with Back Roads. From the early stages of arranging and preparing for an animal’s arrival, to meeting them at transport, to entering information into our management software, and then following up after adoption or rescue transfer, every step along on our animal’s journey relies on people like YOU! Foster: We supply any materials/medicine/supplies needed and we assume financial responsibilities for veterinary care. But we need fosters to make the program work. All of our foster homes are screened for best fit and a foster application is required from every foster home. Volunteer: We attend as many community functions as possible in an effort to both educate and raise awareness regarding animal welfare. All we ask is that you respectfully and professionally represent our group. Donate: We are in constant need of supplies, food & monetary donations. If you have a special talent that we could use as a raffle prize we would welcome any donation. We also welcome new fundraising ideas and people to lead the charge. Share: Follow us and share as many of our stories as possible. The more activity we can get online the more awareness we can raise. Speak Up: Tell people about us! If you have new ideas that might benefit the animals, please contact us and share your thoughts! Are you just too busy to take on one more cause? Here's some other ways to you can be involved with supporting our animals. |
